How To Identify A Suicide Bomber - Police PRO

In the wake of several bomb blasts in the country, Police Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba has stated easy ways Nigerians can identify a suicide bomber if they spot one.

He described how they can be identified through their features, behaviour, movement and lots more.

Below is what he shared on his blog:

Characteristics of a potential suicide bomber

There is no specific profile for anyone who engages himself in suicide bombing. A suicide bomber can come from nearly every cultural background, religion, race, creed or gender. However, the following are common characteristics of a potential suicide bomber.

Through his behaviour

- He behaves in a way similar to someone with no future.

- His mental state could present clues – his eyes are secretive, he makes obvious attempt to avoid eye contact with the people he perceived to be his enemies and always looking at every possible exit.

- Mumbling prayers – may be fervently praying to himself, showing the impression of whispering to someone else.

- He shows no response to any authoritative voice, command or instruction.

Through his appearance

- He wears clothes that are unsuitable for the present-day weather. For instance, wearing of sweater or rain-coat during hot weather.

- He wears slack or puffy clothes. This gives the impression that his body is excessively larger than his head or feet.

- Sweating – resulting from tension and stress or wearing of unsuitable clothes. For instance, wearing a heavy coat during high weather temperature.

- He appears to be focused and more vigilant on his target.

- He will usually have his hands placed in the pocket, around the button of the detonator and ready to set off the bomb at the slightest opportunity.

- He carries big bags or backpacks tightly with wires piercing out of the bag.

- He may most likely have a clean shave or low hair-cut especially when he is ready to carry out the task. This may be done to disguise his real appearance.

- He displays signs of drug use. For instance, his pupils become enlarged with fixed staring.

- His breathings are heavy and rapid.

- Mostly male who falls between the age range of 16 to 30 years of age.

- He looks aggressive, restless, irritable and nervous.

Through his movement

- He walks awkwardly or clumsily in an unusual and odd manner. This is usually due to the unsuitable attire he is wearing and sometimes due to the weight of the explosive devices tied around his body.

- He tries to be evasive in movement. This unusual gait is adopted to evade security agents and some other persons who may foil his plans.

- Often times, he may not know the route to his target destination very well, hence he may occasionally ask for directions. One of the suicide bombers that struck at a church in Kaduna in late 2013 had to ask commercial motorcyclists for direction to the church he eventually struck.

Through his kind of person/other features

- He tries to blend into a group which he clearly does not belong to. For instance, he tries to attend Church worship services even as a non-Christian with clear intention to carry out surveillance and identify vulnerable areas before attack.

- He demonstrates forceful actions in order to reach his desired target by pushing the crowd so as to find his way into a restricted area or showing desperations to reach a crowded point or particular target.

- He will usually have an unusual herbal smell. This is as a result of incense used in the final rituals performed on him as he takes off for the suicide mission.

Excitement as Project Fame audition begins

MTN-PROJECT-FAME

SINCE the auditions for the seventh season of the MTN Project Fame began last Saturday across the West Africa countries, including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria, students of tertiary institutions and a cross section of entertainment- loving youths have begun to show their excitement.
Akeem Adepoju, a student of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Osun State said he is prepared to have another great time watching the telecast of the reality show this year. “I just can’t wait to watch the contestants perform,” he said.
In Lagos, students from the Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, were also enthusiastic about seeing the shows. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the headline sponsors of the show, MTN, is planning to hold Project Fame’s concerts in different parts of Nigeria before the opening gala in July. The concerts, according to the organisers, will hold in Lagos, Benin and Ilorin.
In line with its tradition, MTN’s music ambassadors will be performing at the concert, in addition to past Project Fame contestants from Nigeria and other parts of West Africa.  The competition, which will be hosted by Adaora Oleh and Joseph Benjamin, will feature the likes of Joke Silva, Ben Ogbeiwi, popularly called Uncle Ben, and Kaffy, a dancer.
Activities in the Project Fame Academy are usually telecast daily on both terrestrial and digital television stations in Nigeria and other countries in the sub-region. However, the highlights of the show are the weekend’s performances and eviction shows.

Boko Haram inspires IcePrince’s new single

Pained by the kidnap of over 200 females students by alleged Boko Haram members and the spate of insurgency that has ravaged the North Eastern part of the country, award-winning rapper and songwriter, Ice Prince Zamani has release a new track titled Tears for Naija. Produced by Sammy Gyang, the sob song was released on Thursday, May 15.
“More blessings!! The end is near for Boko Haram,” the artiste tweeted a few minutes after its release.
Packed with a heavy dose of rhetoric, the artiste has a lot of questions for the Boko Haram insurgents. Like why would anyone kidnap his (Ice Prince’) sister when they would not be comfortable with him doing the same to them? Why would one choose to throw a bomb at the spot where he parks his jeep? Does it feel right of one kills a man? Or would there be light (electric power) if one chooses to bomb ‘Nepa’?
With this particular track, Ice Prince leaves his comfort zone, rap, and delves into a genre that that most find difficulty adapting to, reggae. He relives the good old days when Nigerians lived together in harmony, crooning about how different things are these days. He even offers to apologise for the things he did, if that would help return the country back to normal.

Fashola to artisans: practise your trades

Fashola

Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola has advised the newly trained artisans and traders in the state to practise their trades.
Fashola, who spoke last week at the grand finale of the fifth Tradesmen and Artisans’ Week and Graduation for re-trained artisans and traders in Ikeja, said the exercise was meant to enhance workers’ capacity.
He said the programme, an initiative of the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Educational Board (LASTVEB), would spur workers’ growth.  He said through the training, artisans and traders have been given opportunities to access skills similar to those in technical schools.
Also, the Special Adviser to the governor on Commerce and Industry, Oluseye Oladejo, said many vocational workers have been trained in the state.
He said: “I am pleased to inform you that a total of 5,780 members of different registered associations, made up of 3,780 artisans and 2000 trades from various vocations and trades have been trained to     date.”
Also, the General Manager, British American Tobacco Foundation, Abimbola Okoya, said statistics have shown that eight out of 10 new businesses in Nigeria collapse in their first five years. Okoya said the development prompted the foundation to extend a hand of partnership to the state government to build young entrepreneurs.
She said: “We trained about 700 during the eight week programme. They were taught how to keep track of transactions, and maintain good human relations with their customers.”
The foundation, she explained, also gave mobile phones and barges to 50 participants for performing well during the training, hoping the devices would help them communicate effectively with their customers.
She advised participants, to utilise knowledge acquired well and look out for what would make them succeed in business.
A trainee, Mrs Adelakun Atinuke, thanked the government and the foundation for the exercise, saying but for the opportunity, the knowledge gained would have eluded them.

Blame opposition for insecurity in Nigeria - Labaran Maku says

Nigeria's Minister of Information, Labaran Maku yesterday May 28th said Nigerians should blame the opposition political parties for the rising insecurity challenges Nigeria is facing. The minister made this statement while addressing newsmen after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja
"If you go back to the #bringbackourgirls campaign, 90% of those organizing it belong to a political party. Has the media ever analyzed this? And yet the insurgency is operating only in states controlled by that party. The entire money we are spending is to maintain security in the states operated by that party, so why go out and start playing politics? We are busy spending money to maintain security in those states, what have they done about it? Because 90% of all the insurgency is in those states controlled by that political party,  90% of those campaigning to bring back the girls are members of that party. Because the media would look the other way. I think if we want this country to grow, we must ask the relevant questions" he said.

Karrueche Tran mad for being labeled a side chick in mag publication

Chris Brown's girlfriend Karrueche Tran went on a rant after VH1 posted a story about her being one of 'Hip Hop's Most Notorious side chicks'.

The story titled “Get Your Own Man! The 10 Side-Chickiest Side Chicks in Hip Hop” wrote that Kae was the side chick while Chris was dating Rihanna, who was the main girl. Below is what they wrote;
"Unless you’ve been living under a boulder, you know that Breezy had an affair with aspiring model (aren’t they all) Karrueche while he was with Rihanna. Then, he and Riri broke up, and he wifed up Karrueche - but then promptly cheated on her with Rihanna, and then got back together with Tran. Rinse, repeat. The love triangle has inspired several years of bitter twitter battles between the girls
Brown can’t seem to quit either of them. In a confessional video he released in 2012, he said as much. “Is there such a thing as loving two women?” Yeah, dude, but for your own sanity, just pick one.
Well, Karrueche didn't find the story funny and went off on instagram. What she wrote after the cut..

'Marriage and kids have not slowed me down' - Dakore Akande

A few months after giving birth to her second child, actress Dakore Egbuson has returned to acting. She's one of the cast of the play, Hear Word, happening this May. Speaking about how easy it is for her to return to work despite having two young children at home, Dakore said she has a great support system who help her with the kids and that marriage and motherhood hasn't slowed her down
"My mom is with my kids at home. My nanny is also at home. By the Grace of God, I have a great support system. My husband is very understanding. They believe in what I am doing and encourage me to forge ahead, so I can give my all to my job. With balancing marriage, motherhood and work, I prioritize. The home first. And when my husband realizes I am deviating from my duty, I have to push myself back. Family first and once family has been taken care of, I can then fly.
Yes, marriage slows people down if you allow it. I believe a woman can have it all but not at the same time. You have to do things one at a time. Marriage will slow you down but you shouldn't let it stop you" Dakore pictured above with her mum and 2 daughters.

Presidential fact-finding committee visit Chibok

Members of the presidential fact-finding committee on the abducted Chibok school girls yesterday May 29th paid a visit to Chibok community. In a statement signed by the committee spokesman, Kingsley Osadolor, the committee met with some officials of the Borno state government, including the Borno State Commissioner for Education, Musa Kubo, Chairman of Chibok Local Government, Bana Lawan, five district heads of the surrounding communities, Chairman of the Parent Teachers Association of the Government Girls Secondary School Chibok, the principal, parents of the abducted girls and some of the girls who escaped were all present at the meeting.
Read part of the statement after the cut...where's the pic of them there though?
"Members of the committee visited the burnt-out structures of Government Secondary School, where the girls were abducted. The receiving party conducted members of the committee round the grounds of the school. The principal, vice principals, matrons of the hostels, as well as security guards and cooks were earlier debriefed by the committee in Maiduguri. The committee later held an interactive session with the Chibok communities on the school premises. At the meeting, Chairman of the Fact-finding Committee, Brig.-Gen. Ibrahim Sabo (retd.), who spoke with misty eyes, said the committee came, first, to sympathise with the parents and other community members over the havoc of the insurgents. He assured the people of President Goodluck Jonathan’s concern about the fate of the abducted students, saying that the President was having sleepless nights. As we gather here today to see you wailing, by the grace of God, we will also gather here to dance and rejoice with you when the girls regain their freedom" it read
The spokesperson of the committee said the people were elated to see them and asked that their message of hope and belief that the girls would be found be delivered to the President. He said one of the fathers whose 2 daughters are still in Boko haram captivity, Rev. Enoch Mark asked that people should stop politicizing the missing Chibok girls and also stated that the abduction was not a religious thing as both religions were affected by the abduction.

Ladies, would you wear this miraculous strapless G-string?

For those who like to go commando and end up embarrassing themselves when photographers zoom in into their area...there might be a solution. A US lingerie company has invented a strapless panty for those who don't like any hint of visible panty line under their clothes.

It's called Shibue Strapless Panty and its a self-adhesive strip of polyester fabric, with a cotton lining and silicone strips, that reaches from the top of your lady regions back to the tip of your tailbone, and it can be washed and worn repeatedly. (some ladies wearing it above)

According to the lingerie company "The panty has no sides to leave unwanted lines, indentations, or bulges. Even your most stubborn outfit will succumb to the flawless look offered by Shibue panty".

It's the first and only strapless panty in the market and it costs $15, which is about N2k. Would you ladies wear this? For those interested, you can find out more on their website - here
